). Well, its come to that time of year again and Christmas is nearly upon us (seriously, where do the years go?) As you can imagine – particularly if you read my blog regularly – as a young man looking to make the most of my humble lodgings I’ve been spending the last few weeks in the run up to the big day dropping my friends and relatives some very unsubtle hints for some furniture related presents that would make the perfect present for me and my house this Xmas. A couple of things I’ve been particularly considering is a decent quality oak square coffee table for the living room of my house. I’ve also been checking out some oak framed mirrors (just in case I’m not vain enough already) which I think will add a touch of class to my bedroom. The good thing about hardwood products such as oak is that they are extremely durable – and indeed a quality investment for the long-term. If you look after them and treat them regularly they can last a lifetime – as long as you don’t drop them of course (after all – who would want 7 years bad luck for smashing their oak mirror frame!)

Hello to all once again and welcome back to the UK Homes home improvement blog. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’ve been working far too hard of late – both in my “day job” and also in doing the frequent DIY projects that i seem to undertake in and around the home. Hello all! What a wonderful week of weather we have had here in the UK! If you were to believe everything you hear from the forecaster’s nowadays you would think that the sun never shines here, but there is no denying that we have certainly been very lucky over the last few days. With this in mind, my advice to all you UK people is that you should take advantage of it now while you still can by getting out in your back gardens this weekend and enjoying it while it lasts!
Looking out the window now it seems like perfect weather for a BBQ this afternoon so I’ll invite my mates around for a few cold beers and a burger or 10! Thankfully, I have recently invested some of my hard earned cash in some very stylish teak garden furniture for my guests to sit on and enjoy the sun, so I think I may try and relax and forget the stresses of being back at work this week. I have personally found that a good quality garden set (combined with a glass of good wine or beer of course) can be a great way of enjoying the warm summer evenings – and the teak models I have bought recently are proving to be just the ticket. Here’s a nice home improvement tip to give your living room a stylish makeover. Be prepared DIY blog fans as I am about to head off on a rant. Why oh why are all the best furniture stores based in the USA? I spend a lot of time online scouring the web to find top quality home furnishings to suit my personal tastes and I’ve found yet another excellent US based store which fits the bill. This New Jersey furniture store has so many cool products that just don’t seem to be readily available here in the UK. However, if you are looking for dining room furniture NJ or a wide selection of living room furniture NJ then this is unquestionably the site for you should be checking out!
