Readers of my DIY blog may be surprised to hear about how much difference some simple cosmetic changes to the overall appearance to your house both inside and out can improve the overall look, personal impression and even the value of your home. I’m talking about the really simple things like making sure that your brick or stonework is well maintained and clean – which may sound an obvious point but you would be surprised the difference it can make. You can have the brickwork of your house professionally power sprayed to remove any grime and mold and also get your smelly gutters cleaned for reasonable rates. Also,  ensuring that your doors and window fittings are well kept, painted and varnished (if they are wooden) and nicely cleaned is another simple but effective way of improving your house. Even hiring out your local window cleaners can be an excellent cost effective way of giving your home that little sparkle that can make it stand out from the crowd. So take pride in your appearance, because when it comes to first impressions of houses – they always count!

Great Windows at Low Prices

Home lovers are always looking for new windows at a great price but of course, not everyone likes the plastic framed ones found that seem to be readily found in all modern double glazing centres. If this sounds like you, maybe you should try out Wooden sash windows london. These great timber windows are all hand made by experts at a family run business and for me, simply give a much more classic and tasteful look than some of the more naff plastic counterparts offered by larger UK companies these days. If you already have windows of this type installed that are getting a bit run down and are now looking for replacement sash windows london then this service is also available at a very reasonable rate. Why not check out their website to see which windows would suit your home!

Good morning once again DIY blog readers. I awoke this morning to a letter from the landlord of my house informing me of some excellent news. It seems that we are set to receive some of the best replacement windows money can buy! Indeed, we will soon be visited by a specialist to measure up our house for some beutifully finished new wood replacement windows – these are some very high quality double glazing pains and frames which are much thicker than our current windows and should therefore be massively helpful in keeping the heat in our house over the colder months of the year. Indeed, with the temperatures rapidly dropping here in the UK this new addition to the house will be very welcome indeed, and can also potentially save us a considerable of money on our heating bills and therefore the environment too. Energy efficiency is a massive part of saving money and there are also a lot of other DIY methods you can do this – check out my other posts on this topic to see how you can improve your home today!
